Welcome to Odd Leaf Botanics.

By purchasing products through our website, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

Please read them carefully before placing an order.

1. About Us

Odd Leaf Botanics is an independent UK-based plant business specialising in unusual, tropical and exotic plants, including houseplants, palms, outdoor plants and young plants.

Business name: Odd Leaf Botanics
Business operator: [Full legal name]
Location: Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom
Business address: [Business correspondence address]
Email: [Business email address]

These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through our website.

2. Our Products

We take care to provide accurate descriptions and photographs of the plants and products we sell.

However, plants are living products and individual specimens may vary naturally in appearance.

Please be aware that:

  • Leaf shape, colour and growth habits may vary.

  • Plant heights and sizes are approximate unless otherwise stated.

  • Minor cosmetic imperfections can occur naturally.

  • Plants may change in appearance as they grow.

  • Seasonal variations may affect the appearance of certain species.

Where we use representative photographs, the plant received may not be identical to the one pictured.

We aim to ensure every plant is healthy and accurately described at the time of sale.

3. Pricing & Payment

All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP).

Prices include any applicable VAT and other mandatory taxes.

Delivery charges, where applicable, will be displayed before you complete your purchase.

Payments are processed securely through Square and the payment methods available at checkout.

We reserve the right to change our product prices at any time. However, changes will not affect orders that have already been accepted.

If we discover a pricing error, we will contact you before accepting or fulfilling the affected order. You may choose to proceed at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

4. Placing an Order

When placing an order through our website, please ensure your contact and delivery information is accurate.

After completing checkout, you will receive an order acknowledgement.

An order is accepted when we send confirmation that it has been accepted or dispatched. At that point, a contract is formed between you and Odd Leaf Botanics.

If we cannot fulfil your order, we will contact you and provide a full refund for any unavailable items.

We will not substitute a different plant variety without your agreement.

5. Availability of Plants

As a small independent plant business, many of our products are available in limited quantities.

Some varieties may sell out quickly, particularly unusual or seasonal plants.

All orders are subject to availability.

If an item becomes unavailable after you place an order, we will contact you to arrange a refund or an alternative product, if you prefer.

6. Delivery & Shipping

We carefully package our plants to minimise damage during transportation.

Orders may be dispatched using Royal Mail or another suitable delivery provider.

Delivery charges and available options will be displayed at checkout.

Estimated delivery times may vary depending on the destination, courier service and weather conditions.

Where no delivery period has been agreed, orders will be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days of the contract being formed, unless otherwise agreed with you.

We remain responsible for the goods until they are received by you or someone you have nominated, subject to applicable consumer law.

If your delivery is delayed, please contact us so we can investigate and provide an appropriate resolution.

For further information, please see our Delivery & Shipping Policy.

7. Cold Weather & Live Plant Shipping

Many of our tropical and exotic plants are sensitive to cold temperatures.

During winter or periods of severe weather, we may contact customers to arrange a more suitable dispatch date.

Plants may occasionally display temporary signs of transportation stress, such as:

  • Slightly drooping leaves

  • Temporary leaf curling

  • Minor cosmetic damage

  • Adjustment-related discolouration

These symptoms do not necessarily indicate that a plant is unhealthy.

Customers should unpack their plants promptly and provide suitable growing conditions.

If a plant arrives significantly damaged or is not of satisfactory quality, please contact us.

Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights concerning damaged or faulty goods.

8. Returns, Refunds & Cancellations

We want every customer to be satisfied with their purchase.

For most eligible online purchases, customers have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of receiving their goods without giving a reason.

Certain products that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly may be exempt from this cancellation right.

Where a plant or other product qualifies for an exemption, this will be clearly communicated before purchase.

For goods covered by the cancellation right, customers have a further 14 days after notifying us to return the goods.

Customers are responsible for direct return postage costs for change-of-mind returns, where disclosed before purchase.

Refunds will be processed in accordance with applicable law, including refunding standard outbound delivery charges where required.

If goods arrive damaged, faulty or incorrectly described, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 remain unaffected.

Please refer to our Refund & Returns Policy for full details.

9. Plant Care & Responsibility

Every plant has different growing requirements, and some of our unusual varieties may require specialist care.

Customers are responsible for providing appropriate conditions once their plants have been delivered.

These may include suitable:

  • Temperatures

  • Watering

  • Light levels

  • Soil and drainage

  • Humidity

  • Winter protection

We cannot guarantee the ongoing survival of plants damaged by unsuitable growing conditions, neglect or circumstances arising after delivery.

This does not affect your statutory rights if a plant was faulty or not as described when supplied.

10. Seeds & Germination

Where seeds are offered for sale, we aim to supply seeds that are accurately described and appropriately stored.

However, germination can depend on factors including temperature, moisture, growing medium, dormancy and individual species requirements.

We cannot guarantee a particular germination percentage unless expressly stated in a product description.

This does not remove your legal rights if seeds are faulty or not as described.

11. Local Collection

Where local collection is offered, customers will be provided with collection arrangements following their order.

Collections are by prior arrangement only.

Customers collecting plants may inspect their purchases at handover.

Purchases completed entirely in person are not normally eligible for change-of-mind refunds unless we agree otherwise.

Orders placed online for collection may still qualify for statutory distance-selling cancellation rights.

12. Website Content

All original photographs, written content, logos and branding displayed on the Odd Leaf Botanics website belong to Odd Leaf Botanics or their respective rights holders.

Content belonging to Odd Leaf Botanics must not be reproduced or used commercially without permission.

We aim to keep website information accurate and up to date but may occasionally make changes to product descriptions, availability and website content.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions to reflect changes to our business, website or legal requirements.

Any updated terms will be published on this page with a revised date.

Changes will not retrospectively alter the terms of an order already accepted unless agreed with the customer or required by law.

16. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Customers retain any mandatory consumer protections available to them under applicable law.
